The Mayo Pink Ribbon Charity Cycle is a bit of an institution. From humble beginnings in 2010 it has grown to be one of Ireland’s best loved charity events. The reason for its popularity is that it is a community based event where hospitality and warmth are key. Every cyclist is welcomed and cared for by a large team of local people who look after hospitality, safety and support along the way.
We have 2 cycle routes – a 108Km and a 51km route. Both routes bring cyclists through the magnificent landscape of Co Mayo.
A warm welcome home for cyclists!
The main reason for the cycle’s popularity however, is the fact that so many families have been touched by breast cancer and want to do something to make a real difference. Every year, we have relatives and friends of someone who has had a breast cancer diagnosis taking part as a way of showing solidarity and as a way of making a difference. They make a difference because all money raised goes to support the work of the incredibly talented researchers at the National Breast Cancer Research Institute. The message of the Mayo Pink Ribbon Charity Cycle is a message of hope and a promise of action.
